The short version. We collect about as little as an app like this can. No real name. No birth date. No location. No selling anything to anyone. You can delete all of it from inside the app.
Schitchat, Inc., a Delaware corporation operating from Los Angeles, California ("Schitchat", "we", "us"). Contact us at what@schitchat.com.
We do not sell or share your personal information, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act. There is no advertising network in Schitchat and no data broker gets anything.
Schitchat is for people aged 13 and over. We ask your date of birth once, use it only to work out whether you're old enough, and don't store it. If we learn we hold information from someone under 13, we delete it. If you believe a child under 13 is using Schitchat, email what@schitchat.com and we'll act.
Wherever you live, you can:
California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them. Email what@schitchat.com and we'll respond within the time the law allows.
Our database and authentication are hosted by Supabase, in the United States. We use an email provider to send account emails. Neither uses your information for their own purposes. We will disclose information if legally compelled, and we will tell you unless we're prohibited from doing so.
Rooms are public. Anything you post is visible to everyone in that room and may be kept after the show ends. Don't post anything you'd mind a stranger reading. We automatically mask things that look like phone numbers and email addresses, but that is a safety net, not a guarantee.
Messages stay while the room exists. Account information stays until you delete your account. Deleting your account deletes both.
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app.
