The short version. Be 13 or older. Don't harass people. Don't post anything illegal. We can remove content and accounts. You own what you write; we just need permission to show it.
These Terms are between you and Schitchat, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("Schitchat"). By using the Schitchat app you agree to them. If you don't, don't use it.
Schitchat is not for children under 13. If you're between 13 and 18, you may only use it if a parent or guardian agrees to these Terms on your behalf.
You're handed a tag when you open the app. It is a lease, not a possession: if you close the app without claiming it, it returns to the pool and someone else may be given it. Make an account and it's yours for as long as your account exists.
You're responsible for what happens under your account. Don't share it, and tell us if someone else gets into it.
Swearing is fine. Being crude about a television programme is the entire point. These are not:
See our Community Guidelines for the plainer version.
We may remove any content and suspend or delete any account, at our discretion, with or without notice. We aim to act on reports within 24 hours. We're not obliged to keep anything you post, and we may keep records of removed content for safety and legal reasons.
You keep ownership of what you post. You grant Schitchat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and distribute it for the purpose of operating the service. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.
Schitchat does not stream, host or provide any television programme, film or sporting event. You watch on your own services, through your own subscriptions. Programme and network names are used only to identify what a room is about, and no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
Rooms are full of strangers saying what they think. Those views are theirs. Schitchat does not endorse them and is not responsible for them.
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these Terms.
Schitchat is provided "as is". We don't promise it will always be available, or free of errors.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schitchat is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits, arising from your use of the service.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of laws rules.
We may update these Terms. If a change matters, we'll say so in the app. Continuing to use Schitchat after that means you accept the change.
